Privacy Policy

DearSitter (dearsitter.com) is operated by EngageFlow LLC ("we", "us"). This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short and plain.

What we collect

  • Sitter pages you create. Your pets' details and anything you type into the form, such as schedules, notes, contact names and phone numbers, and house notes like a door code or wifi password.
  • Check-ins your sitter records, such as tasks marked done, the name they enter, times, notes, photos and tips for future sitters.
  • Your account. Your email and password. We store your password scrambled (hashed), so nobody, including us, can read it.
  • Payments. If you go Pro, Stripe handles the payment. We get your email, your plan and whether it's active, never your card number.
  • Your email when you ask for a trip reminder or send us a message.
  • Notes you paste into "Fill in the form for me." We send them to an AI service to sort into the form, and we don't keep the pasted text afterward.
  • Usage data. If you allow analytics cookies, Google Analytics records things like pages viewed, device type and approximate location. If you decline, analytics runs without cookies and without identifying you.
  • Basic server logs kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.

Who can see your sitter page

Your sitter page is private by link, and you can turn off a sitter link at any time from your owner view. It isn't listed anywhere, and we ask search engines not to index it. Anyone who has the link can view it, so only share it with people you trust. Items marked "hide until tapped" are hidden on screen, but they are still part of the page for anyone with the link. Your owner link is separate and lets whoever has it see check-ins and photos, and change or delete the page. Deleting your page also deletes its check-ins and photos.

How we use information

  • To show your sitter page to the people you send it to, and a care-only version to anyone who scans your emergency card's QR code.
  • To email you your links, the check-in alerts you turn on, and reminders you ask for. You can turn alerts off or cancel a reminder anytime.
  • To run your account and your Pro plan, and to reply to your messages.
  • To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.

We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Service providers

We use Netlify to host the site and store data, Resend to send email, Stripe to process payments (we never see or store your card number), Anthropic to turn pasted notes into a draft page, and Google Analytics for site statistics. They process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms.

Cookies

We use one small browser setting to remember your cookie choice, a sign-in cookie if you sign in with your email (it keeps you signed in for up to 60 days, or until you sign out), and Google Analytics cookies only if you tap "Allow." You can change your mind by clearing this site's data in your browser.

Keeping and deleting your data

Sitter pages stay live until you delete them. You can delete your page anytime from your private edit link. Waitlist emails are kept until Pro launches or you ask us to remove them. To delete anything else, or if you've lost your edit link, contact us and choose "Delete my data."

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or get a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain uses. Contact us and we'll help.

Children

DearSitter is meant for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
